About Me.

Julia holds a PhD in Economics and worked for many years in finance in the UK, the USA and Russia whilst maintaining a passion for fitness, cross country skiing and ballet. After giving birth to her third child, she discovered and fell in love with Pilates. “Strong Core, Flexible Spine and Optimal Mobility” became her saviour in retaining physical and mental strength.

During COVID, Julia decided to follow her passion and become a Pilates teacher, qualifying with the Body Control Pilates Association (“BCP”) as a Pilates teacher in January 2023. Julia is devoted to further advancing her professional development and has completed specialised courses and workshops to further enhance her knowledge and expertise, developing her professional standards and qualifying at an Advanced Mat Work level. Julia’s further study includes completion of BCP courses on Pilates for the Older Person and Pilates for Bone Health.

Julia is an enthusiastic instructor, with a positive and encouraging approach and a keen eye for correction; she will make sure you will achieve much more than you might think. During the class you will work all your joints, moving in every plane with the focus on strength and flexibility, and at the end of the class you will feel invigorated, relaxed and energised.

Joseph Pilates is the originator of the Pilates method; he was born in Dusseldorf and developed his methods when he emigrated to the USA in 1926.

 

The Body Control Pilates method is based on three fundamental principles, which are Alignment, Breathing and Centring.

Whether you are a beginner or advanced student, Body Control Pilates can help improve and maintain your physical well-being and mental health.  Regular Pilates exercise can help you develop a strong core, flexible spine, better balance and coordination and improved bone density.
